Kelly and Pamela got married 5 years ago, during the height of the Covid Pandemic. If you remember, weddings were happening out of doors and everyone was trying to keep 6ft. apart. It was a hard search for the perfect place. But, Kelly found it!

These two unique and creative people held their wedding under a tree in a pedestrian courtyard in the multi-use area called Monroe Street Market, next to the Washington, D.C. Brookland Metro stop. The Brookland Pint agreed to hold their reception on their outdoor patio.

Small and intimate, with close friends and family, that day was incredibly special to them. To relive those moments and share with loved ones the memories created over the years, they renewed their vows during their anniversary month, June.

They wanted a portrait session that revisited their wedding spot, recreated certain wedding day images, paid homage to the architecture of the Metro station and called to mind the time that had passed. We got together a week before to walk the location and make a plan. I grabbed some shots with my cell phone to work as a preliminary shot list.

I’ve known Kelly since high school. And I met Pam when they adopted a pup I was fostering. They are dear friends and it was a great pleasure to do this portrait session for them. We had so much fun!

They repeated dance dips and twirls. They indulged my ideas for the cutesy and kitschy. They got romantic and acted out funny. What started as a 90 minute session turned into a 3 hour session!

I hope you enjoy the images below as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Happy Anniversary Kelly & Pam!
